MOR KUZHAMBU

மோர் குழம்பு 




This gravy is a must in any occasion and i just love it. It is a simple yet, very tasty dish. You can add pumpkin, kasoori methi, ladies finger or paruppu urundai to it. Or you can make it simple only with small onions stil,l it tastes so good. It is a very apt dish for the hot summer.



INGREDIENTS:
Small onions - 1 cup
Curd - 1 cup (beaten)
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

To grind
Raw rice - 1 tbsp
Toor dal - 2 tbsp
Bengal gram - 1 tbsp
Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Ginger - one inch
Green chilli - 6-8
Coconut - 1/2 cup

To temper
Coconut oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Bengal gram - 1 tsp
Curry leaf - Few
Red chilli - 2

METHOD:

1. Soak raw rice, toor dal and bengal gram for 1 hr. Grind it with the ingredients under to grind and keep aside.
2. Heat oil in a kadai and add the given tempering ingredients.
3. Add the onions and saute until translucent. Add salt.
4. Now add the ground paste and let it cook until the raw smell subsides. Keep in low flame and stir continuously or else it will stick to the kadai.
5. Beat the curd and add turmeric powder to it and mix well. Pour this to the kadai and add enough water. Let it boil.
6. Garnish with coriander leaves.
